The children watch each and every actions of ours. And then also imitate us. And make sure we try to do the right thing always insha Allaah.
It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Aamir Radhiyallaahu ‘Anhu who said:
“My mother called me one day when Rasulullah Shalallaahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam was sitting in our house. She said, ‘Come here, and I will give you (something).’ Rasulullah said, ‘What do you want to give him?’ She said, ‘I will give him a date.’ Rasulullah said: ‘If you had not given him something, you would have been lying.’”
And it was narrated that Abu Hurayrah Radhiyallaahu ‘anhu said: “Rasulullah Shalallaahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam said:
‘Whoever says to a child, ‘Come here and take this,’ then does not give him something, this is counted as a lie.’” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4991)
The most simple unforgiven lie to a child, this type of lie has been the cause of most children being disrespectful to their parents, never promise a child what you cant fullfil, yet the child learns from you, you will regret later when the child is using the same tricks to others and family members.
Subhanallaah how often do parents do this? May Allaah Azza wa Jalla save us from lying even about the things we consider to be nothing. Aameen.
